Happy St. Patty's Day!

So much has happened since our last post! First and foremost, Mikey had tubes put in his ears on the 13Th. We were up bright and early that day because we had to be there by 6am. But its such a quick surgery we were home by 8am! Mikey did so well, he was his usual happy self shortly after we got home. Grandma C. came down to help out that day and we even managed to get some shopping in! That very same day Mikey started army crawling and he hasn't stopped since. Once he spots something he wants he just scoots right over to it...time to start baby proofing the house! Today we had his 6 month appointment - Mikey weighs 17lbs 6oz(50%) and is 27 1/4 inches(80%). Mommy can hardly believe it, our little boy is growing so fast, sniff sniff :-( Each day we grow to love this little man more and more. Every day is new and exciting and we can't wait for what the next day will bring!

The day of the surgery and my ears are already feeling better.

Working on the army crawl...must have learned that from daddy :-)
We had to put drops in Mikey's ears after he got tubes...I don't think he liked them. He fell asleep like this after we put them in.
My new favorite toy...the remote.

Sound asleep after the doctor's visit today.

Mommy wishes she could wake up this happy all of the time!

This tag keeps me occupied for minutes at at time.

That's all folks!

ENT update...

Just a quick update...Mikey and I went to the ENT on Wednesday. As we suspected the doctor recommended Mikey have tubes put in his ears. The fluid in his ears is causing him to have multiple ear infections and also not allowing him to hear everything he should be hearing. Which is not good for development at this age. So our little man will be having the surgery done next Thursday. It sounds like it will be pretty quick and should give the little guy some relief right away. We are very excited our little man will be feeling better soon!

Ear infections, pink eye and maybe...teefers???

So I'm starting to feel like I post the same thing every time. But this winter has not been good to us! Last week we went back to the doctor, again. Mikey had a double ear infection, again. Now I really do like our Pediatrician, but do we really need to visit her every other week? Last week we had the pleasure of going 3 times, yep I said 3 times. Since Mikey has already been on 4 antibiotics Doc decided to go another route...shots! Poor little guy had 3 of them. Needless to say we scheduled an appointment with the ENT. We go on Wednesday to see what he has to say. All week Mikey has been drooling like crazy, chewing on everything in sight and just a bit on the fussy side...we think he might be teething but we're not too sure as nothing has sprouted just yet. And to end our week we were told that another baby at daycare had pink eye...mommy's first thought-"well it has been a whole week since we have been to the doctor." Sure enough Mikey woke up this morning with pink eye. Lucky for us we called in and they were able to prescribe something for him without a visit to the doctor! On a positive note, Mikey started on cereal this week and seems to be doing really well with it. I think he just likes eating dinner with mommy and daddy. He has also been blowing bubbles/raspberries all week long, I'm pretty sure he knows it makes mommy and daddy smile :-) And last but not least, Mikey would like to wish his Great Grandma Dunagan a HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
Really mom, you need a picture of this?

Mmm, doesn't taste too bad.

Just a little bit on my face, not too bad for my first time!

OK, I've got one sock off now what should I do with my foot?

Oh yeah, put it in my mouth...good stuff :-)

3 visits to the doctor, 2 antibiotics and many sleepless nights...

Well just 5 short days after Mikey's 4 month appointment we were back to see the pediatrician. Mikey had a pretty bad cough that sounded similar to the one he had with the bronchiolitis. So not taking any chances Mommy took him to see the doctor only to find out his cough sounded good, but that Mikey had a double ear infection...so we received antibiotic number one. Roughly a week later daycare called to say Mikey just wasn't himself and not eating. At doctor visit number two we found out Mikey still had an ear infection in one ear...which led to antibiotic number two. The 3rd and hopefully final visit to the doctor was just a recheck for Mikey's ears. At that time the doctor said everything looked good. We have asked about tubes several times and they think Mikey is still too young for them, as does Mommy! So everyone keep your fingers crossed we can make it through this winter:-) Its almost over right? Ok so I know its been a long time since the last post but hopefully here are enough pictures to make up for it...
Mikey working on sitting up while Daddy perfects lying on the couch.

Daddy's boy!

Mikey pretty much rolls straight to his belly now. This is him "flying" while doing tummy time.

One morning I could hear some strange sounds coming from Mikey's room. I peeked in only to catch him turning on his Ocean Wonders Aquarium off and on with his feet. What a little genius!

Opps! You caught me!

Mikey is always grabbing his feet now-mostly at diaper changes. Tonight he managed to get a foot in his mouth, yummy!

Here is the excersaucer we got for Mikey. He loves this thing-his seat spins around so he can see all the toys. Mommy enjoys watching him as much as he loves playing in it.

And it tastes just as good as the walker did :-)

4 Months...

Little Mikey is 4 months old today and boy was it a fun filled day. Mommy had the day off so we started out at Portrait Innovations to get some pictures taken. This was our first time getting professional pictures done. We had an appointment at 3 months but one of those dang ear infections kept us from going. Mikey did awesome, smiled the whole time and we really got some good pictures...if fact Daddy thinks we spent too much :-) The first 3 pictures below are from this morning. Next it was off to Mommy's work to bat some eyelashes and coo at all the girls, I think we have a bit of a flirt on our hands! And it was nice to hear people say he looks like me for once...but this is mostly because they haven't met Daddy. Then we went to the mall for some lunch and finally to Mikey's 4 month appointment. Mikey weighed in at 15lbs 3oz which is in the 60th percentile...so everyone can stop calling my little boy a butterball anytime :-) And for height he was 26 1/4 inches, the 90% percentile...looks like he will be tall like Daddy too!
Our little Hawkeye!
All smiles:-)

Daycare has an activity saucer that Mikey loves so we have been thinking about buying our own. Grandma D has this walker we have been testing out in the mean time. He absolutely loves it!
Oh and it tastes good too!
On a final note, Mikey also rolled over from back to tummy this week. Now that he rolls both ways he is all over the place...time to think about baby proofing the house!

Happy New Year!

Hopefully everyone had a wonderful Christmas! As usual, time is flying by and its already the 1st of the year. Mommy and Daddy had their first uneventful New Year's eve in years...yes we stayed in! Daddy brought home some Mexican food, Mikey was in bed an hour earlier than normal and we managed to keep our eyes open until 11:30. Yep we couldn't even stand it a half hour longer to ring in the New Year...I guess that's what a newborn will do to you! We do want to say congratulations to our friends Paige and Jake as they had a baby girl yesterday. Welcome Jenna Elizabeth!!!

Our first major development over the holidays...Mikey rolled over! This is me trying to capture it on camera :-)

Christmas with Grandma D.
A present just my size!
What's all the fuss about?
I've read its impossible to spoil a baby before they are 6 months old...but after all the Christmas festivities I'm second guessing that one! Here is Mikey showing off all his new stuff. Thank you everyone for all the wonderful gifts and making Mikey's first Christmas a great one!
Our 2ND major development...a smile captured by the camera.

And last but not least, a bath with no crying. We couldn't have asked for anything more!
