Oh how our world has changed...

On February 16th, 2014 Miss Genevieve Elaine made her entrance into this world in a hurry.  "Quickest induction ever" were the doctor's exact words.  Our little peanut arrived at 11:53pm weighing in at 5lbs 15oz and was 19.5 inches.  Just about 1 pound and 1 inch smaller than Michael when he was born.  Genevieve is named after my grandmothers Genevieve Florence and Laurel Elaine.  Life has changed, for the better and this little girl has us all wrapped around her tiny little fingers.

Shortly after Genevieve was born.
All bundled up at the hospital.
A change of clothes for some pictures.

On our way home for the first time.  She looked so tiny in her car seat!

One of the proudest big brothers I know!  This was during our first week at home.

At 6 weeks old she already loves to smile and "talk" to grandma.

Genevieve at 8 weeks.  All dressed up and as happy as can be.

These last pictures were taken during daycare's picture day.  Genevieve is about 10 weeks old here.  We had a hard time choosing just one picture so we bought the disk!

2013 Wrap Up

The last half of 2013 had lots of changes in store for our family.  In mid August Michael started Kindergarten.  This was a big transition for Michael and an even bigger one for Mommy.  Its hard sending your baby off to school!  He has done awesome since day one...Mommy has grown to accept he is growing up.  We had conferences in November and Michael's teacher had nothing but great things to say about him!  At this point, Michael is already half way through his school year...where does the time go!  The other big change we found out this summer is Michael is going to be a big brother.  We found out in October we are having a girl, she is expected to arrive next month.  So, we have been busy with Michael, school and preparing for baby.  Anyway, on to the pics!

First day of school pic...he was so excited!

Walking into school on the first day.

A pic his teacher took on the first day...we have found out he smiles much better for her than he does in pictures we take at home.

Another pic taken by his teacher during recess.  Can you spot our little goofball in the middle?

Michael showing off one of the first pics of his little sister.

We couldn't get Michael to take a picture on Halloween, but we did get one of the pumpkins.  Daddy did a great job carving!

Luckily, his teacher got one of him in his costume at the school party.

Our annual trip to see Santa.

Michael telling Santa what he wants for Christmas.

And lastly, Iron man on Christmas morning.  That's all for now, maybe when baby comes I will be better about updating more often...maybe.

T-Ball

Michael finished up another season of t-ball this summer.  He really had fun after he got over the fact that he had to wear a purple shirt.  To a 5 year old boy, purple can only be a girl color!  We tried to tell him he might be wearing a lot of purple...purple and gold are his school colors which is near and dear to mommy's heart anyway :-)  I slacked in the picture taking.  I only brought my camera to one game and the battery died before it was over.  So here is what I ended up with...

Michael pre-game, we are working on the shirt tucking in thing.  Not sure why, but he likes his shirts tucked in and his pants pulled just a bit higher than they should be :-)

Ready to go and so serious!

Michael indicating that I should stop taking pictures.

Summer is here again!

Well, its been just shy of a year since our last blog post.  I have received several friendly reminders that this needed to be updated :-)  Summer has officially kicked off and we have been busy!  Michael had preschool graduation on May 24th (round 2).  With a September birthday, Michael is just on the edge for the kindergarten cut off...one day to be exact.  This means he completed 2 years of preschool and will finally be heading to kindergarten this fall.  So far, he is really excited about it!

Michael was supposed to dress up for graduation and he really wanted to wear a tie - like Clark Kent does when he isn't busy being Superman. We went shopping and he picked out his own outfit. Personally, I thought he was incredibly cute!

Michael after graduation with Mommy and Daddy...he was not happy about having his picture taken this time around.

Michael and his buddy Hunter.  They won't be going to the same school this fall which will be sad for everyone.  But they will still see each other at before and after care at the daycare.

Right after graduation, we hit the road and head down to Missouri to see family and have some fun.  One of the days we went to Silver Dollar City.  Michael really impressed me with how brave he was to just hop on some of the rides.  Such as the one above called the American Plunge.  This picture doesn't do justice for how high the drop was.  You can't really see Michael, but he is safely tucked in the middle of Mike and Harvey.

Michael spotted a Spidey Bear at Silver Dollar City and had to have it.  He could really care less about going on any rides after this...but Mommy talked him in to it.

He wanted Spidey Bear to come along on every ride, which is against the rules.  This was about the only ride he could talk someone into letting him take the bear along...but doesn't he look so happy?

We spotted some go karts and Michael really wanted to go on them.  He was too short to drive these himself of course.  He was also really excited to go on these...until he realized how fast they went.

But we found some a little more Michael's size!

A picture with Grandma Shirley the day we left...notice the bear still in tote.

Michael has been taking lots of pictures with my camera lately...this is just a random self pic that I thought was cute.  The end for now...hopefully it won't be another year before the next post :-)

Summer is here!

We are already into summer and boy have we been busy.  There has been a pre-school graduation, a trip to the zoo, the lake, a reunion, mother's day, father's day, family, friends and of course t-ball!  At the end of May, Michael "graduated" from pre-school.  Michael won't be old enough to go to kindergarten this year.  So he will have another year of pre-school next year and will more than likely have another graduation.  But he still got to go through the ceremony and it was incredibly cute!  They sang 3 songs and Michael sang every word - I have to say I was pretty impressed.  Michael also started t-ball earlier this month.  So far he has enjoyed every minute of it!
Michael all dressed up for pre-school graduation.
A picture with daddy before graduation.
And one with mommy.

They sang us songs.
And he got a diploma.

And just looked pretty darn cute in his cap.
With his best buddy Hunter.
The one picture I was allowed to take at the zoo.

Ready for his first night of t-ball.

Swing away!

Patiently waiting at 3rd base.

Blowing mommy kisses from the dugout.

Good game!
