3 visits to the doctor, 2 antibiotics and many sleepless nights...

Well just 5 short days after Mikey's 4 month appointment we were back to see the pediatrician. Mikey had a pretty bad cough that sounded similar to the one he had with the bronchiolitis. So not taking any chances Mommy took him to see the doctor only to find out his cough sounded good, but that Mikey had a double ear infection...so we received antibiotic number one. Roughly a week later daycare called to say Mikey just wasn't himself and not eating. At doctor visit number two we found out Mikey still had an ear infection in one ear...which led to antibiotic number two. The 3rd and hopefully final visit to the doctor was just a recheck for Mikey's ears. At that time the doctor said everything looked good. We have asked about tubes several times and they think Mikey is still too young for them, as does Mommy! So everyone keep your fingers crossed we can make it through this winter:-) Its almost over right? Ok so I know its been a long time since the last post but hopefully here are enough pictures to make up for it...

Mikey pretty much rolls straight to his belly now. This is him "flying" while doing tummy time.

One morning I could hear some strange sounds coming from Mikey's room. I peeked in only to catch him turning on his Ocean Wonders Aquarium off and on with his feet. What a little genius!

Mikey is always grabbing his feet now-mostly at diaper changes. Tonight he managed to get a foot in his mouth, yummy!

Here is the excersaucer we got for Mikey. He loves this thing-his seat spins around so he can see all the toys. Mommy enjoys watching him as much as he loves playing in it.

And it tastes just as good as the walker did :-)

4 Months...

Little Mikey is 4 months old today and boy was it a fun filled day. Mommy had the day off so we started out at Portrait Innovations to get some pictures taken. This was our first time getting professional pictures done. We had an appointment at 3 months but one of those dang ear infections kept us from going. Mikey did awesome, smiled the whole time and we really got some good pictures...if fact Daddy thinks we spent too much :-) The first 3 pictures below are from this morning. Next it was off to Mommy's work to bat some eyelashes and coo at all the girls, I think we have a bit of a flirt on our hands! And it was nice to hear people say he looks like me for once...but this is mostly because they haven't met Daddy. Then we went to the mall for some lunch and finally to Mikey's 4 month appointment. Mikey weighed in at 15lbs 3oz which is in the 60th percentile...so everyone can stop calling my little boy a butterball anytime :-) And for height he was 26 1/4 inches, the 90% percentile...looks like he will be tall like Daddy too!

Daycare has an activity saucer that Mikey loves so we have been thinking about buying our own. Grandma D has this walker we have been testing out in the mean time. He absolutely loves it!
Oh and it tastes good too!

On a final note, Mikey also rolled over from back to tummy this week. Now that he rolls both ways he is all over the place...time to think about baby proofing the house!

Hopefully everyone had a wonderful Christmas! As usual, time is flying by and its already the 1st of the year. Mommy and Daddy had their first uneventful New Year's eve in years...yes we stayed in! Daddy brought home some Mexican food, Mikey was in bed an hour earlier than normal and we managed to keep our eyes open until 11:30. Yep we couldn't even stand it a half hour longer to ring in the New Year...I guess that's what a newborn will do to you! We do want to say congratulations to our friends Paige and Jake as they had a baby girl yesterday. Welcome Jenna Elizabeth!!!

What's all the fuss about?

I've read its impossible to spoil a baby before they are 6 months old...but after all the Christmas festivities I'm second guessing that one! Here is Mikey showing off all his new stuff. Thank you everyone for all the wonderful gifts and making Mikey's first Christmas a great one!

Mikey is 3 months old!

Mikey is officially 3 months old today. The time is flying by so fast and we can't believe how much he changes everyday! Mikey is more alert and "talking" more than ever...this past week he has started this sort of happy screaming. Its actually and ear piercing sound that only a mother can love...especially when he and daddy were doing it back and forth at each other tonight. Can anyone send me some ear plugs?!? Mikey has been a little sick the past couple weeks. He had and ear infection and bronchitis, and just as we thought he was on the mend mommy got a call from daycare Friday saying he had thrown up. So it looks like we will be heading back to the doctor tomorrow morning. All sickness aside, he has been a very happy and playful boy...it almost felt like we were playing hookie last week when he was home sick!

This is when Mikey was home sick...you can see his little ear is bent forward. It always does this when we hold him too, we may need to invest in some duct tape or it may stay that way! Its hard to get a picture of Mikey smiling. As soon as you put the camera in front of him he stops...this smirk is the closest we can get for now.
I've been testing out the bumbo chair recently. Mikey needs a little support with his head yet, but it won't be long before he is doing it all by himself. Our multi-talented little man...sitting up and playing with a rattle!

515 1/2 Franklin and Thanksgiving.

A couple weekends ago mommy was able to get together with some old college friends...her roomies from 515 1/2 Franklin Street(that place is forever embedded in my memory!!!). Here is a pic of the next UNI fans - Jace, Courtney and our little Mikey D.

I don't think we impressed anyone with our sleeping capabilities just yet...or should I say lack there of. Although Grandma was very gracious to help out at 2:30 am. Thanks grandma!

2 months...

Mikey loves his cradle swing...it has a mobile with fish that he smiles at the instant you put him in it. Bath time - If anyone has any tips we will gladly take them....the little guy cries the entire time!

Just after Mikey's 2 month check up...you can see the band aids on his legs. Mom almost cried too, I can barely stand to take a needle myself so watching the little guy get stuck with 3 of them was not fun! Mikey weighed in at 11lbs 13oz and was 23in long...he is growing like a weed!
