Birthday Celebration

Mikey's birthday party was Sunday at a park near our home. We couldn't have asked for a nicer day as the weather was perfect. Mikey must have thought the weather was great too because he kept trying to escape the shelter house. Now don't get me wrong, its wonderful that my child wants to enjoy the outdoors. But, he always headed straight towards the road and then nearly had a meltdown when Mommy wouldn't let him play in the street. Besides that, it was a great day with lots of cake, presents, family and friends. Mikey also has his 1 year appointment last week. He weighed in at 22 lbs which puts him in the 50% and I can't remember his exact length but it was in the 80%.

Even more presents!

Happy Birthday to me!

Can you believe Mommy let me make this mess!

One happy boy :-)

Happy Birthday Michael!

Mikey turned one today and we can hardly believe how fast this day arrived. Looking back its hard to imagine that just one year ago we were sitting in the hospital with our little bundle of joy not yet knowing how our lives would be changed forever. From the sleepless nights, to first steps and the sweet sounds of Mama or Dada, we can't imagine our life without him.
Tonight Mikey enjoyed a mini celebration with Mommy and Daddy in hopes to get him prepared for this weekend. Between the cupcake he devoured or the wrapping paper he attempted to eat, I am very surprised he didn't get sick!

Playing with more paper.

Calling someone up on his new phone.

Playing with a box instead of the paper.

And finally one year ago...

I-Cubs...

Mikey went to his 1st I-Cubs game over the weekend. Mommy and Daddy were a little nervous that our little busy boy was going to be a handful.
Here is the whole crew -
Aunt Jody, Uncle Troy, Cousins Kiley & Colby, Grandpa, Grandma, Mommy, Mikey & Daddy.
Mikey started out on Daddy's lap, then Mommy's, then Grandma's...I think you get the picture. About the end of the 1st inning Daddy thought it would be a good idea to take Mikey upstairs for a walk in his stroller :-)
Mommy then braved the crowd to get the little guy a hot dog, only to come back and see the sleepy head....

I think he lasted until maybe the 3rd inning! He slept sound until the top of the 7th when Mommy decided she wanted to get a picture. That's ok we got to sing "Take me out to the ball game" together which made Mommy happy:-)
