Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

It was another wonderful Christmas at our house and we hope the same for yours! Daddy managed only to have to work on Christmas eve this year as the snow held off Christmas day and the few days after so we could travel. The little man gets more and more excited every year as he starts to understand what its all about. Of course, for a 3 year old that means presents :-) He is going to be an active boy when the weather warms up as he got a bike, a quad and a scooter. Mommy and Daddy are going to have to put some serious thought into a shed come spring!

We did attempt to see Santa in mid December. The little guy was so excited only to lose his nerve when we walked up to Santa's workshop. He was actually trembling with fear when he saw the big guy from a distance. We didn't push it, but did take the chance for some photo opportunities. This was one attempt at our Christmas card photo.

Some cool pajamas from Santa.

Wildly ripping into his presents.

Mikey playing with a new train set.

Smiling somewhat in front of our tree. Notice his shirt says "80% Naughty and 20% Nice". That's about right, thanks Aunt Sue and Uncle Harvey!

Halloween and Turkey Baby

Ah, remember the days when I used to post every couple of weeks and even update the blog background according to the season? I know, its just a faint memory to me as well. So with about 2 weeks to go before Christmas, I thought I better get the Halloween pictures up :-)

Mikey at the pumpkin patch. He was much more interested in the cat than the pumpkins.

In a wagon at the pumpkin patch, where you can pick out more than just pumpkins :-)

On the way home, with a pumpkin just my size.

Mikey in his Buzz Lightyear costume. I think I have posted pictures of him in this before, but this time he has the pumpkin bucket to prove it was really Halloween.

Mommy, Mikey and his new cousin Kinsey. She was born the day before Thanksgiving and is absolutely perfect!

Yes, we do realize Mikey looks like he would be great with a brother or sister :-)

Michaels' 3rd Birthday

WARNING! There are lots of pictures in this post! That's what I get for waiting so long between posts...or when you have several days filled with lots of birthday fun :-) Mommy and Daddy had the whole week off work which means Mikey had the week off from daycare too! The week was filled with appointments, a trip to Omaha and of course a Birthday Party!

First on the to do list was to get Mikey's 3 year old pictures taken. However, this was the only picture taken that day :-) Mikey wanted nothing to do with getting his pictures taken. Mikey and mommy went to begin with, and Mikey wouldn't even get in front of the camera. A 2nd appointment was made so Daddy could come along. Mikey got in front of the camera but wouldn't smile. Several hours later we were home with nothing to show for it. Oh well, maybe next year right?

The next day consisted of a 3 year check up and a visit to the dentist. Mikey is 39 1/4 inches tall (86%) and weighs 33 lbs (65%). The dentist told us Mikey has one cavity :-( Mikey didn't like the dentist as can be seen in the picture above. Mikey is making his "bad guy face".

Thursday it was off to Omaha! Our hotel was right by a Bass Pro Shop so we checked it out. They have pretty neat hats. I thought for sure Mikey was going to want to get this. Nope, we found a 3 foot stuffed alligator pillow instead.

Mikey checking out the fish at Bass Pro.

And the boys taking some target pratice.

Back at the hotel enjoying the pool, which was ice cold by the way!

Friday morning we got up early and headed to the zoo. This was in the Desert area, it was pretty neat. We spent nearly an hour in this area alone.

Mikey and Papa running through a tree in the Rain Forest.

Mikey and Grandma C. sitting on a bench in the Rain Forest.

Now its Mikey and Papa's turn.

Mikey and Daddy walking on a bridge in the Rain Forest.

Mikey has a slight aversion to getting his picture taken after the incident earlier in the week (see first picture). So many of my pictures that day were of Mikey running away from the camera :-)

Mikey sitting on a big gorilla. The "real life" gorillas were much cooler.

Daddy and Mikey checking out the monkeys.

When we got home on Friday there were a few packages sitting on the door step and cards in the mail. Here is Mikey flashing some of the money from his cards.

Checking out his new sleeping bag...which he actually slept in that night!

And a pretty fun batting tee.

And finally, the Birtday Party! Mikey and Cousin Kiley waiting to open presents.

Ripping into the presents.

Checking out the Toy Story card with Papa.

Mikey during "Hapy Birthday". He was being shy and wouldn't blow out his candles.

Last but not least, cake! Yummo!

A couple bucks at a garage sale = hours of fun!

Grandma Kathy scored big at a garage sale when she came across this Buzz Lightyear costume. The little guy loves it! For those of you that don't watch Toy Story everyday, Mikey is shooting the laser on the costume. Thanks Grandma!

Dear Spiderman,

I'm sorry I have been around much lately. I haven't watched your movies in months. And I certainly don't sling as many webs as I used. You see, I have discovered a couple of new friends. They follow me nearly every where I go...

This is Buzz Lightyear, he says cool stuff like "to finity and beyon" (aka to infinity and beyond).

And this is Woody, he says "yee-ha" and wears a cool hat like any cowboy would do.

I love their movies, I have 2 of them and watch them nearly every night.

Yep, you guessed it I even have a t-shirt (and of course this isn't my only one). I even asked mommy and daddy for Buzz and Woody cubers (aka covers for my bed). But don't worry Spiderman I still wear your shoes and big boy underwear :-)

~ Love, Mikey.

Can you believe...

...its been nearly 3 months since our last post! Mommy has been slacking with the picture taking and with the computer time. But after the longest winter ever, spring is finally here. So maybe and I do mean maybe, I will be better at taking pictures. Anyway this is what we have been up to -

Hanging out with Mommy at home, during one of the many many snow storms.

Pretending to be a fireman. But only when I'm taking a break from being Spiderman.

We went to fun birthday party where we climbed and went down slides (then took the best nap ever).

Asleep and Grandma and Papa's...wearing Mommy's old pink cowboy hat :-)

And finally the Easter bunny made a visit.

I put as much candy in my mouth before anyone can take it away!

Thank you Easter Bunny!

Swimming

Several weeks ago we got together with my mom's side of the family for Christmas. This year we decided to head to a local hotel with an indoor water park. Its the same one we went to for my Dad's birthday. So Mikey was pretty familiar with the place and it didn't take him long to hop right in the water. He was pretty brave this time and climbed right up on the pirate ship. Which completely stressed mommy out! There are lots of big kids around that don't pay a bit of attention where they are going. Oh well, the little guy had a blast and even went down the water slide with me. Good thing no family members witnessed that one as I'm sure it was a sight to see. We'll just say Mommy was a little more freaked out than Mikey was by the big splash at the end...I won't be winning any mother of the year awards for that one :-)
